Giving as Good as Gold.

Seattle agency announces names of local non-profits receiving $50,000 worth of creative grants.

Seattle, WA, September 15, 2010 - A Capitol Hill marketing agency proves creativity has a conscience. Golden Lasso created The Golden Giving Program to provide organizations with effective, results-oriented branding and marketing materials with high-impact and long-lasting value through in-kind and matching grants up to $50,000.

After receiving over 40 applications from a diverse range of organizations, Golden Lasso has decided to award another Capitol Hill-based organization, Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets (PSKS), a full grant (worth $25,000 in creative services). PSKS tirelessly strives to provide support services to Seattle's homeless, and formerly homeless, young adults; its multitude of programs range from high school completion and self-advocacy, to creative outlets and employment opportunities. PSKS is unique in the sense that it relies on former clients' input to refine and create programs to better support these youth. (www.psks.org)

When asked about how the grant will affect PSKS, co-founder and Executive Director, Elaine Simons commented, "PSKS is currently planning to launch a capital campaign in order to raise funds to secure a permanent home for the agency. PSKS is very excited about the opportunity to work with Golden Lasso to make the upcoming campaign a success."

The recipients of matching grants are still being decided and will be announced soon.

Inspired by its clients' successes in 2009, Golden Lasso created The Golden Giving Program because of its belief in the power of voice to motivate and engage. Since it was founded, Golden Lasso has been involved in giving back to the community by offering its time and services to foundations and other not-for-profit organizations. This dedication to giving back has earned Golden Lasso a spot, for the second year in a row, on the Puget Sound Business Journal's Top 75 Corporate Citizenship Awards list.

Golden Lasso owner and principal, Bridget Culligan, remarked, "Our passion is to inspire people to action - something we do every day for our for-profit clients. Through Golden Giving, we make these high-level services available to those in the non-profit community who are struggling right now, and will be more successful with effective marketing and development tools. It's a way for us to directly impact and improve the quality of the community where we live and work."

In 2009, Golden Lasso also helped the following organizations accomplish their goals: The Interfaith Association of Northwest Washington, 826 Seattle, National Institute for Reproductive Health, Thomas C. Wales Foundation, Copper Canyon Press, Child Care Resources, Passages Northwest, Elder & Adult Day Services, Richard Hugo House.
